Development Phases

Basic Science

We invite you to share your thoughts on the latest advances in Basic Science advancements that may be of interest to the Dry Eye development community.

Many of our Basic Science contributors focus on the mucin, aqueous, or lipid layers of the tear film, while others are experts in ocular inflammation or the role of blink patterns in Dry Eye Syndrome.

Regulatory Perspectives

Only one prescription Dry Eye product, Allergan’s Restasis® Ophthalmic Suspension, has received FDA approval to date. As more companies work to gain approval for their investigational Dry Eye drugs, we invite their team members to provide insights into the current regulatory climate.

Clinical Development

We invite our community to exchange their perspectives on clinical development strategies and tactics within the current Regulatory paradigm. The critical importance of subgroups, matching drug to disease, and assessing the use of Environmental vs. CAE™ studies, as well as endpoints.

Venture Capital Perspectives

We invite our community to exchange their perspectives on financing Dry Eye product development and their assessment of critical value inflection points in the development process.

Exit Partner Perspectives

Many Exit Partners find it valuable to share the criteria that they use when evaluating a potential license or other optioning of a potential Dry Eye product. By identifying the particular development stage at which they, as a buyer, will most likely become interested in evaluating a start-up entity, they are able to find the best candidates for partnering opportunities.
