What is Dry Eye?
Dry Eye is a group of diseases and/or conditions of multiple underlying etiologies or pathologies that adversely affect specific components of the tear producing system. These result in an unstable or altered tear film composition that inadequately supports the health of the ocular surface epithelium, leading to ocular surface inflammation and/or eye discomfort.
The Dry Eye Summit Online Community
The Dry Eye Summit online community grew out of the inaugural 2010 Dry Eye Summit. This full-day symposium was organized as an ancillary event to the 2010 ARVO Annual Meeting held in Fort Lauderdale.
The event focused on a full array of Dry Eye development aspects, including:
- Basic Science Strategies
- Regulatory Perspectives
- Clinical Research Strategies
- Venture Capital Perspectives
- Exit Partner Perspectives
Today, our mission is to continue the collaboration that began at the 2010 Dry Eye Summit by encouraging interaction between our global online community members. Our goal is to bring together the world’s thought leaders in Dry Eye research and development in order to accelerate the launch of much needed Dry Eye therapies.
